I talked to Sue Ahrenkiel last night to follow up on our conversation Tuesday night after I learned he was in hospice. She is holding up rather well under the circumstances. She wanted to thank all those class mates who called her when they heard Bob was in hospice. She indicated that Jeff Downing may speak at the funeral next week. I shared with her the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the hope there is in Him and I believe she shared my conversation with Bob. She indicated he was in no pain when he died and had not been suffering which was a blessing. Bob was my best friend in Junior High, High School, and college but we didn't have much contact after early post college years which I regret. My wife Pam and I visited Sue and Bob in Arizona about 3 years ago and it was great to catch up on old times. He was a good friend and will be missed.
