Micheal Himes

Where do I start.... I met Rich for the first time when his family moved to the south side of town prior to our 7th grade year at Anson. He lived next door to one of my good friends, Al Hoop.

During the summer of '59 we hung out together having fun at the Anson playground, playing softball and baseball. One summer we built a pole vaulting pit in Al's back yard and tried killing ourselves with bamboo poles we were able to get from McGregors furniture store.

We were teammates at Anson in football, basketball and track as well MHS track. He was a super athlete.

Rich was always doing something silly that made us all laugh. He was one of my best friends from my school years and I will never forget his friendship and kindness.

RIP Rich,

I'll see you again someday
