I retired from Fisher in2001 and went to work for the school district in the athletic area. I left there in Dec 2007. I began coaching in 1991 and spent 17 years doing football and 6 years doing basketball and 11 years doing baseball. My favorite was baseball and after getting out this year i am still heavily involved with the program.

In 2007 i ran for the city council and won a seat in the 4th ward. It is fun and interesting, but there is a lot to do and as always, no money available.

I retired from the Army Reserves and am lucky enough to recieve a pension . It allowed me to visit several foreign countries and meet a lot of new people.

I became a grandparent in Feb of this year. My son Adam had a daughter ( Adilyn) and it has been really good for Donna and i. Luckily they live in Marshalltown and we get a lot of time with her. Adam had a second daughter (named) Samantha Aug 2011. My son Brian had a daughter , Jordyn, on Jan 4th 2015. Adam and Emily moved to Ankeny fall of 2014, don't see grandaughters as much as i would like.

I just try to keep busy, Donna is a young pup and i have to wait till she gets to retirement age, but that will make me older too. it is sad that Donna passed from pancreatic cancer. it has changed my life dramatically. i had total hip replacement on april2nd 2014 and seem to be healing ok. then had my knee scoped in march 2015. all is well. waiting to get the green light to resume golfing. it has been reather cold and wet so i haven't missed much yet. i am going to report that i had a second surgery in Aug 2014. this one was to repair the rotator cuff in my left shoulder. am three months into rehab. i guess that older people are not supposed to throw batting practice. i am done now.

I have to go back to a sophomore basketball game . I was sitting on the bench (down by the water) and Rich Hayes looks at me and said "the coach wants you", i ran down there and he said "what the hell do you want". Later when he wanted me i didn't go. Wow. what a night.

i want to add that i truly enjoyed going to the senior prom with Dianne Stephenson, i have been trying to contact her but can't find her.
