I met Donna (Dawn) in high school in Choir.  She was a very kind and cared about her friends. I remember she lived on South Center St.  Several years ago I got to see her at one of the MHS Ladies Luncheons in Marshalltown.  It was so fun to get to catch up with her and talked about our familes.  Thinking of her family and friends.

I loved this girl .In high school she was funny, quirkie and honest as the day is long.  We were best buds.  The first summer i was back in M'town in 2015 Diana Youngblood Muckelroy was also in town so Patty Helfer organized a dinner for us. So it was Patty Helfer, Diana Youngblood Muckelroy, Donna Rainsbarger Hertz,  Kay and their husbands.  BUT Patty did not tell Donna I was back in town. I, needless to say, showed up 15 minutes late. When I rounded the corner into the back room  (Donna and Gary were seated in the corner against the wall) .She jumped up and started shrieking Gidgie Gidgie trying to climb over everyone in the back side of the table. Poor Gary he got the worst of it. Longest hug ever. That was a night to remember. Rest in Peace my friend!

Always a friend! She lived life honestly and real, never trying to be anything other than who she was. Loved seeing her at Huckleberries! She was a kind and loving person who brightened every room she entered. So full of life and I will miss her terribly. RIP, Donna.
